Deleting your data
Last updated August 25, 2026
You can permanently delete your Lyra Dream account and everything in it at any time, directly from the app. No email, no waiting on us. This page explains exactly how, what disappears, and what little we are required to keep.
1Delete your account in the app
- Sign in at lyradream.app.
- Open Settings — in the sidebar on desktop, or via the Profile tab on mobile.
- Scroll to Delete Account and press it.
- Confirm who you are. If your account has a password, type it. If you signed in with Facebook, Google, or Apple, confirm in the provider window that opens — we never ask a provider account for a password it does not have.
- Confirm the deletion.
Deletion runs immediately and cannot be undone. You are signed out as soon as it completes.
2What deletion removes
Everything tied to your account is removed in a single database transaction:
- Your dreams — the full conversations, interpretations, and summaries — and any in-progress draft session.
- Your profile and life snapshot, your life context and recorded life events.
- Notes about people you mentioned in dreams.
- Inner-work and integration notes.
- Your dream-credit balance and its history, and any referral records. Unused credits are lost — deleting the account forfeits them.
- Safety-signal metadata (which never contained message content in the first place — see the Privacy Policy, section 4.5).
- Your waitlist entry, if you joined the waitlist with the same email address.
- Feedback and support messages you sent from the account.
- Your encryption keys. If you enabled encryption, the wrapped keys are destroyed with the account, which makes the encrypted content unrecoverable by anyone, including us.
- Your sign-in record with Firebase Authentication, including the link to your Facebook, Google, or Apple identity.
3What we keep, and why
- De-identified operational records. Rows that meter service cost and abuse (token counts, timestamps) are stripped of everything that points at you — the account reference, the sign-in identifier, IP address, and device string are all cleared. What remains cannot be linked back to you and never contained your dream content.
- Purchase records. Where you bought credits, the transaction record is retained for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Where a copy of your data persists briefly in operational backups, it is deleted or irreversibly anonymized within 30 days, as described in section 6.4 of our Privacy Policy.
Your dream content was never used to train AI models — not ours, and not our providers'. There is no model that has to "forget" you.
4Take your data with you first
Deletion is permanent, so export first if you want a copy. In Settings → Export Your Data, we generate a complete machine-readable JSON file of your dreams, notes, and profile, decrypted if you had encryption enabled. Download it before you delete.
5If you cannot sign in
If you have lost access to your account and cannot reach the Settings screen, email [email protected] from the address the account uses, with the subject "Delete my account". We may need to verify your identity before acting, so that nobody else can delete your dreams. We respond within one month, and in practice far sooner.
6Removing Lyra Dream from Facebook
If you signed in with Facebook, you can also disconnect the app on Facebook's side: Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites, then remove Lyra Dream.
Removing the app there does not delete your Lyra Dream account. It only revokes Facebook's connection, which stops you signing in. Your dreams stay on our servers until you delete the account itself — use step 1 above, or email us as in step 5.
